12 year old boy shot dead by police in Cleveland

tamir rice
So America and their gun law have claimed another victim, this time it is a twelve year old boy, killed as he brandished what turned out to be a fake gun. Police responded to an emergency call when a boy was reported to be waving “what might be a fake” gun in a children’s’ playground. The man that called police said the boy was a swings and pointing a pistol that was “probably fake” and scaring everyone pulling the gun in and out of his waistband.
When they arrived the boy apparently pulled the gun from his waistband and pointed it at the police, the fake did not have the orange safety indicator normally fixed to these guns and the police believed it was real. Both officers involved have been placed on administrative leave, which is standard procedure in these cases. The police have surveillance video of the incident and after reviewing the prosecutors will present their findings to the grand jury.

Without taking sides in this incident it is very difficult for police in cases such as this, but in America it is shoot first ask questions later, would it not have been possible to use a taser or similar device. Easy of course to say that when you have don’t a gun being pointed at you, fake or real.
