Naira hits N208 to the dollar at BDCs, Black Market

 


The Naira on Friday depreciated against the dollar as it traded at N208 from the N191.50 it sold for on Monday, Jan. 19. The rate has made the naira to lose N16.50 within five days. The CBN’s website, however, put the Naira against the dollar at N167.50, while the Pound sold for N253.20 and the Euro stood at N193.89S The development has resulted into speculation in the market and caused ripple effects on other currencies. A some Bureau De Change and Black Market operators in Lagos, said that they could not give rates to the Pound Sterling and the Euro. Dealers who preferred anonymity said that there was scarcity of dollars in circulation. They said that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) had stopped selling forex to the Bureaux De Change, since last year. The dealers added that the recent review of trading positions for the forex trading positions of banks to 72 hours, also contributed to speculation in the system. The effect, they added, was that the naira could depreciate further by next week. The CBN in November 2014 devalued the Naira to N168 to the dollar.(NAN)

 Rumors has it that Ace Nigerian Rap artiste Olamide A.k.a Badoo has been reportedly kidnapped by heavily armed gunmen, eyewitness claim. According to reports, Olamide was on his way to a video shoot when the incident occured. The kidnappers haven’t demanded for any ramsom or called any of his relatives. According to another eyewitness, Olamide’s car was also taken by the kidnappers. More details later….

Famously called Don Jazzy, Micheal Ajereh is known for being the brain behind some of the top Hip Hop music Nigeria has ever produced.

The multi-talented award-winning record producer, singer-songwriter, musician and former CEO of Nigerian record label Mo’ Hits Records, which was founded in 2004, has everything going on fine with him.
The producer, who recently clocked 32, has, however, perfected the art of keeping secret everything about his private life. Known for being jovial and playful, especially on his various social media accounts, Don Jazzy is evidently enjoying his state of single hood.

Don Jazzy has revealed that he is not married because he is not as fine as his brother. The top music producer who recently received an award at the Sun Awards for ‘Creative person of the year’ shared a photo of his younger brother D’Prince and captioned it “If to say I fine like my bro maybe I for don marry by now. Hissss #YesIamHating”

The Mavin boss is not publicly known to be dating anyone; however in November he did share a quote to an anonymous person saying “Dear Future Wife, You’re Lucky To Have Me”.

It will be recalled that a few weeks ago,  Don Jazzy’s label mate Tiwa Savage was said to be having an affair with one of the aides of the Lagos State governor, with the report claiming that it was the affair that caused the rumoured havoc in her home.
